Ingredients:

  • 1 baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices on the bias

  • EVOO as needed to brush onto toasted bread

Method:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and top with parchment paper and another sheet pan, sandwiching the bread between the two pans. Bake in 400˚F until the bread is pale golden and crisp, about 10 minutes.  Serve immediately  with EVOO or assorted toppings and serve.

GARLIC BRUSCHETTA



Ingredients:

  • 1 baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices on the bias

  • EVOO as needed
  • Fresh clove of garlic

Method:

Preheat grill on top of the stove. Bush bread with EVOO.  Toast over hot grill until brown on one side; turn and brown second side without EVOO. Remove to cookie sheet. While warm, rub crusty bread with garlic to rub off garlic essence onto bread. Serve while still warm.

Chef Note: You may use thicker cuts of bread (1 inch) that will remain soft in the center when following grilling directions; then apply the garlic. This will make a more traditional garlic bread.
