ONION, CHARRED & WINE SOAKED

Slowly caramelized onions soaked in red wine. Add balsamic if desired

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 onions, sliced and rings separated

  • 2 cups rose wine
  • Season with salt
  • 1/2 cup good balsamic vinegar, optional

Method:

Place onion in large skillet; separating rings. Place into 400°F oven. Bake for 25-35 minutes or until they are the color of brown sugar or darker. Remove from the oven and add the wine. Add balsamic, if using. Place into oven for 5-10 more minutes until wine completely evaporates.
Season with salt.
