Orange Sherbet

By:

We love sorbet, which is fresh fruit in season, churned and frozen, and made without cream or milk. Sherbet is also made with fresh in season, churned with milk or cream and frozen. Our favorite is this one, Orange Sherbet, that tastes a lot like the dream sickle on a stick we enjoyed as children.

Ingredients:

7 ounces superfine sugar
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
2 Tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
Method:
Combine all ingredients scent cream in a large mixing bowl, whisking to combine and dissolve sugar; add cream and whisk to combine; refrigerate for 1 hour to chill to
40 F or below; place in ice cream unit following manufacturers instructions.
Churn to consistency of soft serve; remove to freezer container and hold until service.
